The A4Y Yogurt Culture is the perfect choice for those who crave a tangier, sourer yogurt experience. Whether you’re a home enthusiast or a professional maker, this culture ensures your yogurt is not only flavorful but also packed with prebiotics and probiotics for a healthy gut. Suitable for both plant-based and dairy yogurts, it’s an excellent choice for vegans, lactose intolerant individuals, or anyone seeking a nutritious, homemade yogurt that delivers superior taste and texture.
Key Features:
- Tangy and Souring Flavor: This culture is specifically designed for those who prefer a stronger, more intense flavour profile.
- Gut-Friendly Probiotics: Rich in beneficial bacteria that aid digestion, support immune health, and promote overall wellness.
- Allergen-Free: Ideal for vegans and people avoiding allergens found in dairy products.
- Versatile: Perfect for making a wide range of yogurt types, including Greek yogurt, tzatziki sauce, yogurt cream, and drinking yogurt.
- Prebiotic Inulin: Contains inulin, a plant-based fiber that nourishes good bacteria in your gut, enhancing your yogurt’s health benefits.
What’s the Difference Between the BatchCulture and CapCulture Versions?
- BatchCulture Version: Contains a higher concentration of probiotic strains, leading to a more probiotic-rich yogurt. It also has a higher content of prebiotic inulin, which supports digestion and the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.
- CapCulture: More convenient for smaller batches, with one capsule per litre of milk. It offers the same benefits but with lower concentration.
How Is A4Y Yogurt Culture Different from Natural Yogurt Culture?
A4Y is based on the Natural Yogurt culture but includes an added strain of Lactobacillus acidophilus, a probiotic strain responsible for a pleasantly sour taste. This makes the A4Y yogurt even more tangy and nutrient-dense than traditional yogurt.
How Long Will Your Yogurt Last?
Homemade yogurt made with A4Y culture will stay fresh for 2-3 weeks when stored in the refrigerator.
What Makes Yogurt Healthy?
The live bacteria in yogurt help support digestive processes, improve intestinal flora, and promote a healthy immune system. They pre-digest and transform food, producing enzymes and organic acids that benefit overall health. With A4Y, you also ensure that your yogurt is free of excess sugars, preservatives, and additives commonly found in store-bought versions.
Prebiotic Fiber:
Inulin plays a crucial role in A4Y culture, acting as a food source for the beneficial bacteria. It helps the bacteria travel through the digestive tract and boosts their growth. Inulin is also sweet-tasting, yet safe for diabetics, as it doesn’t affect blood sugar levels.
What Milk Can You Use?
A4Y yogurt can be made with any type of milk, including organic, lactose-free, or even raw milk. If using raw milk, it’s important to heat it to 88-92°C for 5-10 minutes before adding the culture.
Required Tools:
- Pot for heating the milk.
- Thermometer for monitoring the milk’s temperature.
- A way to maintain the temperature, such as a yogurt maker, thermos, or sous-vide appliance.
How to Make Yogurt:
- Mix 1 tablespoon of A4Y Yogurt Culture into 1 liter of warm milk (43-44°C).
- Keep the milk at this temperature for 4-6 hours. A thermos or insulated container is ideal for maintaining the temperature.
- Once it has set, refrigerate the yogurt for 2-3 hours to fully firm up.
- For Greek yogurt, simply drain the yogurt in a curd bag to remove excess whey.
Package Options:
- CapCulture (Encapsulated Form): Convenient and precise, with one capsule per 5 litres of milk.
- BatchCulture (Measured Form): Includes a measuring spoon, with one spoonful per litre of milk, ideal for smaller batches.
